Italy have announced their squad for the European Under-21 Championship, including Nicolo Barella, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Federico Chiesa and Moise Kean.

As promised, CT Luigi Di Biagio has named an all-star cast for the tournament, with Alex Meret, Gianluca Mancini, Nicolo Zaniolo and Patrick Cutrone among the other big names.

However, Chievo full-back Fabio Depaoli, Napoli defender Sebastiano Luperto, Torino forward Vittorio Parigini and Frosinone pair Francesco Cassata and Luca Valzania fail to make the cut, as don’t Serie B quartet Gaetano Castrovilli, Federico Bonazzoli, Ferdinando Del Sole and Gabriele Moncini.

Milan’s Davide Calabria also does not feature, having not recovered from an injury in time, while clubmate Gianluigi Donnarumma is no longer considered by the Azzurrini.

Italy are joint-hosts with San Marino and have been drawn in Group A alongside Belgium, Poland and Spain.

Their first match is against Spain on June 16.
